Hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam and is a sacred obligation for every Muslim who is physically and financially able to undertake the journey at least once in their lifetime. Every year, millions of Muslims from every corner of the world travel to the holy city of Makkah to perform this remarkable act of worship.
Hajj is not simply a journey across countries; it is a journey of faith, humility, sacrifice, and complete submission to Allah. It reminds Muslims that all believers are equal regardless of race, nationality, wealth, or social status.
Hajj is an annual pilgrimage performed during the Islamic month of Dhul Hijjah. It consists of specific rituals performed over several days in Makkah, Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah.
A Muslim is obligated to perform Hajj if they:
Pilgrims enter a sacred state known as Ihram before reaching Makkah.
Pilgrims walk around the Holy Kaaba seven times.
Walking between the hills of Safa and Marwah seven times.
Pilgrims spend the night in Mina in prayer and reflection.
Standing at Mount Arafat is the most important part of Hajj.
Pilgrims collect pebbles for the symbolic stoning ritual.
Throwing pebbles at the three Jamarat.
Performed to commemorate Prophet Ibrahim’s obedience.
Known as Tawaf al-Wada (Farewell Tawaf).
Hajj is the journey of a lifetime and transforms the hearts of believers forever.
